It"s Fun to Make Natural Acne Treatments at Home
There are plenty of commercial acne cleansers and treatments but it's fun to make natural acne treatments at home and the advantage is you can choose the combination of ingredients that work for your skin.
In addition all the ingredients in this article are natural and will be gentle on your complexion.
The first thing to do is experiment to see which ingredients are suitable for your skin.
We are all different and your skin could react very differently to mine.
Here is a list of the most effective natural acne remedies.
You can buy any of these herbal cures in the form of essential oils.
You really need to find pure essential oil as these will have the strongest curative properties.
Add a drop of your pure essential oil to a teaspoon of almond oil.
Put a little of the mixture on skin that is affected by acne and leave for around 15-30 minutes.
You are looking for two things; first does your skin react adversely and secondly do you notice even a small improvement to the acne.
Once you have tested each of the oils you have purchased you can make a blend that will work effectively for you.
Anti-bacterial Skin Cleansing Cream Take one ounce of bees-wax and put it in a mixing bowl with a ½ cup of sweet almond oil.
Warm the bowl gently to get the wax to melt.
Traditionally this is done by putting the bowl in a pan of water and heating the water, but I cheat and use the microwave.
Warm the bowl on low power for 10 second bursts, stirring each time.
You can then add around 20 drops of essential oil in any combination you choose.
This cream keeps quite well but I recommend making small batches.
You could also make homemade Acne treating soap.
Find a perfume free pure soap and grate it into a bowl.
Melt the soap in a microwave using the same method I described earlier.
Add 20-30 drops of your combination of essential oil, then set the soap in small bowls or moulds.
You can make either product into an exfoliating treatment by adding some ground sea salt which is also anti-bacterial but will also gently remove dead skin cells.
These soaps and natural facial creams also make great presents.
I hope you enjoy making your own products.
I think you will find them both economical and very effective.
