How to Build Enclosures for Mid-Range Car Speakers
- 1). Cut two rectangular panels for the front and back of the box with your circular saw. Each panel should measure 10 by 20 inches.
- 2). Cut two rectangular panels for the top and bottom of the box with your circular saw. Each panel should measure 8 by 20 inches.
- 3). Cut two rectangular panels for the sides of the box with your circular saw. Each panel should measure 8 by 9 inches.
- 4). Assemble the side, top and bottom panels to make a hollow box with two parallel, open sides. Overlap the top and bottom panels over the side panels. Attach the pieces together with wood screws.
- 5). Place the front and back panels onto the box and attach them with wood screws.
- 6). Cut two openings in the front panel for the speakers. Use the speakers as a template for the size of the openings. Each opening should be centered 8 inches in from the outer edge of the front panel.
- 7). Drill two holes in the back panel in line with the speaker openings in the front panel. Slide a length of speaker wire into each of the holes in the back panel. Reach into the box and pull the speaker wires out of the speaker openings in the front panel.
- 8). Attach the speaker wires to the terminals of the speakers. Place the speakers into the speaker openings and attach with screws.
