    • 1). Double-click the iTunes icon on your Windows PC's desktop, or click the iTunes icon on your Macintosh screen to open the iTunes program.

    • 2). Plug the iPod cable into the bottom of the iPod Touch, and plug the other end of the cable into the computer's USB slot.

    • 3). Select the iPod Touch icon in the iTunes source list under the Devices section, and right-click it. Click "Back up" from the pop-up menu.

    • 4). Click the "Summary" tab, and select the "Restore" button to begin the restoration process. Click "Don't Back Up" on the dialog box, and click "Restore" on the new pop-up dialog box.

    • 5). Click "OK" on the dialog box once the iPod Touch has been restored, and leave the iPod Touch connected to your computer until the device setup screen appears. Click the circle next to "Restore from the backup of" and click the drop-down menu next to it.

    • 6). Select "iPod Touch" from the drop-down list, and click the "Continue" button to complete the backup restoration.
