iPad to TV
The iPad is great for watching videos, TV shows and movies. It's great to be in bed watching TV on the iPad. In some instances though, it's enough and you'd rather have that same iPad video on your TV. It could be when you are laying in your bed, watching the iPad fall. Or when your friends are over and you'd rather have them watch a certain video on the TV rather than the small screen of the iPad.
Whatever the reason, you can and should connect the iPad to the TV. This can be done wirelessly or with wires. This is all about preference because for the most part the picture will be the same.
Apple sells cables to connect any of your iPads or iPhones to the TV. One end will fit your iPad or iPhone; the other end will be an S-Video or a composite cable. Take my advice and go with the S-Video, the picture quality and sound are much better. Obviously this won't be as convenient and a little messier but it will also allow you to take your iPad on the go and plug-in to any TV with the right ports.
For those of you who hate seeing cables but don't want to put in the effort to hide them, Airplay on Apple TV is the perfect solution. Click the link for set-up instructions and links. The iPad to Apple TV instructions are very easy to follow and it should only take a few minutes to set-up.I have the both Apple TV and the S Video connection. Connecting my iPad or iPhone to the Apple TV is hands down the way I go most of the time, although, the S Video connection has come in handy on numerous occasions.
Oh, Airplay and Apple TV aren't only for watching show either. You can also mirror your iPad for games and work apps. So you can compete with your friends in your favorite game without hanging over each other's shoulders or review the work presentation you created at a distance that allows you to take notes for the big meeting you have coming up. Now back to when the S-Video came in handy.
One time, mi, mi ladies and a couple gents was rockin out durin a tunderstorm, keeping dry at mi palace when the cable and internet went out. We wasn't ready to stop da partyin so I hooked up mi S-Video cable to da TV and tings got real. We woulda missed out on that dat experience had the cable not been there. Wuz feelin bad for mi gents cuz dey wasn't gettin any, but glad I had dat S-Video at da same time. Bouyakasha.
