Buy a nail stencil from a beauty supply store. These stores have lots of stencils, from simple designs to elaborate ones. Choose a simple design such as a plain line when you first airbrush nails.

Use acetone nail polish remover and wash your hands thoroughly to remove any oil or old polish from your nails. If your nails aren't clean, the airbrush design won't last as long.

Apply a basecoat to your nails. After the basecoat has dried, apply the color you've chosen for the background.

Position the stencil on top of your nail in the position that you want the design. Use an airbrush gun to paint over the stencil with the color you've chosen for the design. Clean up any over spray with acetone nail polish remover.

Brush on a long-lasting topcoat and let your nails dry thoroughly before touching anything. Using a nail dryer helps speed up this process.
