How to Make Skin Exfoliation Masks for Skin Care
- 1). Choose a granular exfoliant. White or brown sugar works perfectly and will give your mask a sweet scent. Ground coffee can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and baking soda will fight acne. You can even use cornmeal as a gentle exfoliant. Avoid using salt, which is too harsh for sensitive skin and can sting when it comes in contact with small cuts and blemishes.
- 2). Combine the exfoliant with a liquid, adding the liquid in small increments until you reach the desired consistency. Choose a liquid based on your skincare needs. Citrus juice will shrink pores and brighten your skin tone; honey and olive oil will moisturize dry skin; and yogurt will cleanse clogged pores, moisturize skin and minimize wrinkles. You can even puree your favorite fruits and vegetables to soak your skin in their vitamins and nutrients.
- 3). Spread an even layer of the mask onto your face and neck, and allow the mixture to set for 15 to 20 minutes. Then wet your fingertips, and massage the mask mixture in small, circular motions to exfoliate the skin.
