How to Cheaply Remodel a Kitchen
- 1). Paint the whole room. A coat of paint will give it a fresh new look and will help cover scratches, stains and odors. Choose a bright color to add light and a high gloss for easy maintenance. Don't forget about all the wood trim.
- 2). Paint your cabinet doors. This is one of the cheapest ways to renovate your kitchen. Start by removing and sanding down all doors and drawer fronts. Add a primer before painting to help the paint adhere.
- 3). Replace all the hardware on your cabinets and drawers. This is another way to give your kitchen an updated look for little money.
- 4). Replace old floors with laminate flooring vinyl tiles. Make sure you are able to install it yourself so you don't have to pay labor costs. If you can't afford new flooring, buy a cheap area rug to cover a large part of your kitchen floor.
- 5). Replace the kitchen faucet.
- 6). Paint the front panel of your old dishwasher. This is easy to remove, clean and paint, giving you the look of a new dishwasher without the expense.
- 7). Add new blinds to your kitchen windows. Bamboo blinds are perfect for the kitchen and they're inexpensive and easy to install.
- 8). Install new lighting or just change the lampshade on an existing light fixture.
