    • 1). Open a blank page in your graphics editing software and set the document to letter size or 8.5-by-11 inches. Any software will work, such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Paint.

    • 2). Using the line tool available, draw a calendar template. Include a large space at the top for writing the month, seven smaller cells below the month box for writing the days of the week and at least 31 boxes below that for filling in the days of the month.

    • 3). Print the calendar template onto heavyweight card stock as directed by your printer manufacturer. The card stock does not have to be white; get creative and use pretty pastels or lightly colored patterned card stock.

    • 4). Cover the back of the chipboard with glue. Place the printed calendar template directly over the chipboard and rub gently to make sure it sticks well.

    • 5). Remove the backing from the laminating sheet and place it directly over the top of the printed calendar.

    • 6). Place four pieces of magnetic tape onto the corners of the chipboard backing and hang the calendar on the refrigerator. Have your kids write the month, days of the week, and the dates on the calendar. Older children can even add their own appointments and events. At the end of each month, simply wipe it away with a dry tissue and start a new calendar.
