How do I Get Sand Out of a Canon PowerShot Digital Elph SD600?
- 1). Power down the Canon PowerShot camera and remove both the batteries and the flash memory card from the device. You want complete access to all the openings on the camera in order to remove all of the sand.
- 2). Wipe down the camera with a soft cloth. Do not use this on the lens--just the actual body of the camera.
- 3). Spray air into the battery and memory card chambers. The air blower looks like a small turkey baster and blows air out the thin tube attached. Do not use compressed air as you are in a closed, confined space and it may actually damage the delicate workings of the digital camera. Continue to blow air at the sand to remove it from the device.
- 4). Insert the batteries back into the camera and turn it on. This opens the camera lens. Look over the lens for sand. If you see any, blow it off with the air blower. Do not rub it with the cloth as it moves the sand across lens.
