How to Draw a Crown

    • 1). Draw four small dots on the paper. Mark the first dot in the center of the paper. The second dot should be approximately 2 inches above the first dot. Mark the third dot to the left side of the paper, directly between the first two dots. Mark the fourth dot to the right side of the paper, directly between the first two dots and lined up with the third dot.

    • 2). Connect the dots together by drawing a sideways oval. Start at the first dot, and draw the oval through the fourth, second and third dots, ending again at the first one.

    • 3). Draw four additional dots on the paper. Place each new dot approximately 2 inches above each of the four old dots.

    • 4). Connect the new dots together to create a second oval. The lines of the new oval will cross the lines of the first oval. These two ovals create the outline for the crown.

    • 5). Draw a sweeping line from the left dot of the second oval into the top center dot of the first oval, curving down in the middle. Draw an identical sweeping line from the right dot of the second oval into the top center dot of the first oval, also sweeping downward. This creates a center-point for the crown.

    • 6). Draw an oval around the top center dot of the first oval, where the two sweeping lines meet. This will be a jewel at the top of the crown.

    • 7). Draw a curved line from the left dot of the second oval into the top, center dot of the first oval, curving up in the middle. Draw an identical curved line from the right dot of the second oval into the top center dot of the first oval, also curving up in the middle. This creates the back of the crown.

    • 8). Connect the two left dots with a short, vertical line. Connect the two right dots with a short, vertical line. This creates the sides for the crown.

    • 9). Erase the bottom of the second oval, leaving the front of the crown clean of all pencil marks. Erase the top of the second oval above the jewel. Erase the dot and all pencil lines within the center jewel.

Draw a large jewel in the middle, front of the crown. Add several smaller jewels alongside the large jewel to line the front of the crown.

    • 11

Erase a 1-inch section in the center of each of the sweeping lines drawn in the middle of the crown. Redraw the section of each line, bringing them to a point. Make sure the points are even with one another and are smaller than the point in the middle of the crown.

Add an oval to the top of both of the new points, representing a jewel. Draw fancy edges around the top of each of the three jewels.

    • 13

Erase any extra stray pencil marks, just leaving the basic outline. Outline the crown with a black marker. Color in the crown and jewels with markers or colored pencils.
