Record Book

• You can turn an ordinary journal into a record covered book or craft your own record book using basic bookbinding techniques. You will need two vinyl records to make this craft. The records will need to be cut into two rectangles to serve as the front and back covers of the book. If starting with a pre-made blank book, the cut rectangles can be glued to the front and back covers. If making your own book from scratch, you will need to drill holes through the edge of the front and back records, sandwich paper between the two halves, and stitch the spine closed using bookbinding thread and a needle.
  
  

Record Cuff Bracelet

• A record cuff bracelet can be crafted from smaller pieces of records left over from other recycling projects. Use a strip of leftover record and place it in the oven on low heat to make the plastic pliable. Wearing heat-resistant gloves, fold the cuff into a wrist shape. Sand down any rough edges to avoid scraping while wearing the cuff. The cuffs can be embellished with rhinestones or other decorations, painted or simply left plain.
  
  

Record Earring Rack

• If you want to try a record craft that doesn't involve any cutting, you can craft your own earring holder. You will need one record and either a needle or a safety pin. Heat up the needle or pin and use it to poke a series of holes into the vinyl record. Poke holes in pairs of two so you can keep your earring pairs together. Also poke two holes near the top of the record on opposite sides so that you can add a cord to easily hang your earring holder.
  
  

Record Letter Holder

• You will not need to do any cutting to craft a letter holder out of a vinyl record, but you will need to heat your record in the stove at low heat to make the plastic malleable. When it is, remove it from the oven and fold up the lower edge to about the center of the record. Place a plate or some other object in the gap to hold the shape. Reheat the record, then remove it from the oven and allow it to cool. The center hole in the record can be used as a nail hole for hanging the letter holder on the wall.
