Instructions for Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X2
- 1). Open PaintShop Pro Photo X2 and explore the organizer palette at the bottom of the screen. This palette allows you to manage, open and perform basic editing tasks on your photo collection. A directory to the left of the organizer lets you explore a list of folders on your hard drive to search for photos to bring into the program. You can preview images in selected folders in the window to the right of the directory, and you can perform 90-degree rotations on your photos and add tags and other information without even opening them in the program. If you cannot see your organizer palette, select "Palettes" and "Organizer."
- 2). Select the "Express Lab" icon in the row atop the organizer. This function allows you to perform quick and easy edits to your photographs. You can use the crop function or straighten groups of photos, as well as remove red-eye problems and small blemishes without actually opening these images in the main workspace. You also can make instant adjustments to your photos' brightness, shadows, highlights and saturation levels. All of the tools appear beneath the selected photo in the Express Lab interface.
- 3). Experiment with the tools in the vertical panel left of your photo workspace. Here you will find what you need to apply gradients, make precise selections, apply brush strokes and perform many other precision edits and enhancements on your photographs.
- 4). Explore the "Effects" menu and apply film or filter effects to your photos. You can add aged, cooling or other artistic effects to your entire photograph to create a different feel or convert your photo to a customized black-and-white setting to add a timeless element to your composition.
- 5). Use the "Text Tool" to add text to your photographs. You can customize font type, size, direction and other settings to apply an appropriate message or text label to your images.
- 6). Experiment with the various menu bar options and tools to create the best enhancements for your photographs. You can add frames or borders, in addition to the text, and create layers that allow you to add artwork and brushstrokes without affecting your original photo.
