Locate a manufacturer of rubber stamps is to conduct a search on line. Use Google or Bing search engines for optimal results. - 2). Use a keyword search of "manufacturer of rubber stamps" on a search engine. Google will return approximately 7 million hits. To narrow down your search, use keyword phrases such as "customized rubber stamps," "custom-made rubber stamps," "personalized rubber stamps," or "made-to-order rubber stamps." These keyword phrases will return approximately 120,000 -- 160,000 websites.
- 3). Find 3 - 4 manufacturers of customized rubber stamps. Use the information provided by the search engine to determine which rubber stamp makers will accept original artwork. Look for the words customized, custom-made, personalized or made-to-order in the description of the website.
- 4). Go to each website and see if they have an easy online ordering system. If not, call or email them through their "contact us" information.
- 1). Do some comparison shopping between 2-3 manufacturers. Look at each website to see what they all have to offer. Some manufacturers will only offer pre-inked or self-inked stamps. Others will have everything including hand stamps, art mounted stamps, address stamps, date stamps, monogram stamps, I-Stamps and specialty stamps.
- 2). Determine how much each manufacturer is going to charge for the size rubber stamp you need and what their size limitations are. Confirm the total price including shipping and handling fees plus any fees for the artwork.
- 3). Ask how long it will take to finish the rubber stamp and estimated delivery time. Ask when they need the artwork and when payment is required. Ask questions about satisfaction guarantees and returns.
- 4). Determine what other materials are needed. Ask what kind of ink pad and ink you will need. There are Tradat ink pads, non-porous stamp pads, StazOn permanent stamp pads, Versacolor Pigment ink pads and I-Stamp ink and Ultifast ink. Ask for a handle for the stamp if it is a stamp you are going to be using repeatedly.
- 1). Get the artwork to the manufacturer for them to create your rubber stamp, whether you have created your own artwork or are using a design you have seen elsewhere.
- 2). Ask permission for use of artwork, if you are using a design you have seen elsewhere. Either send an email to the owner or a letter in the mail.
- 3). Find out what file format the manufacturer will need the graphic saved as, if you are using an image from your computer. Some will require either a TIF or BMP file format, some will ask for a JPG or GIF file. The image should either be 300 dpi or 500 dpi.
- 4). If you do not have access to a computer, some companies will allow you to send a crisp, clean copy of the artwork via U.S. mail.
