Upgradation of HOPE Zia colony school Karachi
Pakistan is facing various challenges to raise the literacy level of its population, so that socio-economic needs of Pakistani nation could be fulfilled. In this regard, the efforts of NGO's like HOPE could not be neglected.
HOPE NGO in Pakistan, built a formal school in Zia Colony. It was inaugurated in Korangi in 2006, targeting the underprivileged children of the community. It has always tried to seek out ways to provide better education to its students. In this regard, there is always an upgradation taking place in one way or another. New and modern ways are introduced in HOPE schools so that students of HOPE schools could give tough competition to the rest of the world and could become a better person. It has been made sure that such upgradation should not affect the fee structure. So that, children belonging to poor and needy families could continue their education. As many of the students, who are studying in HOPE formal school are orphan and their mothers & sisters are supporting their family by working as a maid. Houses they are living are on rent & it is hard for them to study. HOPE NGO in Pakistan are providing them with free education.
HOPE's project "Upgradation of HOPE School and vocational center, Zia colony, Karachi" has been approved by the government of Japan. This project will begin in September 2012 and it consists of building new rooms, improving vocational center and availability of conveyance for the staff and students. In this regard, 12 more rooms will be built. Students will be able to go to field trips and also they can visit to other schools. So that they could interact with other schools and avail the facilities offered by those Schools, such as computer labs, Science labs etc. Currently 750 children are studying in the morning and evening shifts in Karachi and through this project 250 more students will be able to get admission in HOPE Zia Colony School. This project will make HOPE Formal School students to increase their learning power and will help them to compete with the rest of the world.
HOPE School takes safety of its school children very seriously. Therefore, in this regard, it will be made sure that children will not enter into the premises where the construction is taking place. Since majority of the construction will take place on the roof, therefore that area will be cordoned off.
This project will also result also in betterment of HOPE vocational center. The women who are acquiring knowledge and skills will be able to earn money, will not only become self dependent but also could raise their families in a better manner.
