Have You Tried Over and Over Again to Quit Smoking?

Many smokers hate to smoke and would love to quit smoking.
They hate how it makes them feel and the damage that it does to their bodies.
They hate how it affects their loved ones, how it controls their lives, and how they have to plan their days around their cigarette breaks.
They even hate how guilty smoking makes them feel.
And, those who have tried to quit several times, hate how often they have tried and failed to quit.
Even though quitting is desirable for those who hate smoking, the process of quitting can be a terrible experience.
Many smokers struggle over and over again to stop but they still find that their addiction is alive and still killing them slowly.
This is even true of people who have a strong commitment and desire to quit smoking.
They may feel that they want to quit more than anything in the world, but they still find themselves sneaking cigarettes to calm the nicotine withdrawals.
Going through this process on a daily basis may become a reality for many people who want to quit but find that they just have to start over again the next day or the next week.
This type of roller coaster ride can discourage people and wear them down to the point of depression and even despair.
Some people may feel like the only thing that can make them quit is a bad report from the doctor stating that they have cancer, emphysema, or any other dangerous side-effect that comes with smoking.
Of course, then these thoughts lead to thoughts of having to say goodbye to family and friends and not living a full and complete life with those that you love.
These types of thoughts can lead to even further depression and despair.
With such deep emotions driving an effort to quit, one would think that it would be easy; so, why is it so hard? Well, maybe the time or the method or something else just wasn't right.
Perhaps, it just takes awhile to overcome the addiction.
No matter how hard it is to quit, it is important to stick with it and remind yourself everyday that you can do it.
It may take several attempts but eventually you will make it through one day, then two days, then a week, then a month, etc.
The excitement and the feelings of success, not to mention the benefits to your health and your life, will be well worth the ride.
Just remember not to lose your desire and will to quit smoking.
