How to Update Mio
- 1). Turn on your Mio device, then connect your USB cable to your computer. Place your Mio DVD into your computer's DVD drive, then select your language from the "Choose Your Language" option. Follow the prompts to the "Update Firmware" screen.
- 2). Select "Update Firmware," then click "Update." Note that you will receive a warning message advising you that you are getting ready to update your firmware. Select "OK" to continue. Allow the updates to install, then click "OK" when completed. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.
- 3). Reconnect your USB cable to your computer, then select "Update Maps" from the first section of the main-page menu. Select "Load Map," then click "OK." Note that you will receive another warning message. Click "OK" to continue, then click the provided link that will allow you to access an activation code.
- 4). Copy and paste the activation code into the provided box. Locate the serial number from your DVD media, which can be found on the back of your Mio product or on the bottom of the original box in which your Mio came. Submit the serial number in the "Serial Number" option. Press "Continue," then select "Transfer to Device." Wait while all the maps are copied to the Mio GPS.
