How to Make Coin Necklaces

    • 1). Place a ruler on each of the coins and make a dot at opposite ends of each coin to drill holes.

    • 2). Place one of the coins in a vise clamp and tighten the vise until the coin is held securely.

    • 3). Use a 1/16-inch drill bit on a drill to make a hole through one of the dots on the coin. Loosen the vise slightly and rotate the coin until the other dot is facing upward above the clamp. Drill the second hole through the coin.

    • 4). Continue the above process until you have made two holes through each of the coins.

    • 5). Polish each of the coins with a polishing cloth or piece of microfiber. You can use a piece of fine sandpaper before the cloth to smooth any rough edges caused by the drill bit.

    • 6). Cut a 30-inch-long piece of thin-gauge jewelry wire.

    • 7). Thread a stop bead onto one end, ½-inch away from the end.

    • 8). Thread four or five crystal or metallic beads onto the wire and then thread one of the coins onto the wire. Continue repeating this pattern until you reach a little more than ½-inch from the opposite end of the wire. Thread a stop bead onto the wire.

    • 9). Bring the two ends of the wire together and twist the ends to make the necklace. Use a pair of tweezers or pliers to help twist the wire if it is too difficult to twist by hand.
