Is this not leadership of a very different kind and of a very different quality, but does it not have a relevance and a place wherever we may serve as leaders? It really all depends upon the quality of your foundation and what type of foundation you have built your life and service and leadership upon! He can borrow my tomb! Did Joseph of Arimathea know that Jesus would only need it for three days? Passover season had begun, and these next few days would see the most significant transformation in the life of a number of people and that would continue to grow and grow.
It was at Passover in Jerusalem when sacrificial lambs were being slain in remembrance of that deliverance from Egypt, that Jesus Christ our Passover lamb was crucified.
Is all this just coincidence? If that supernatural and miraculous deliverance from Egypt had not been real and true and recorded accurately, why would Jesus Christ have remembered it on His last and final night on earth before going to the Cross? Not only was He killed, and not only did He shed His blood to wash away our sin, and open the door for man to be forgiven, but Jesus was raised from the dead and He is alive.
Acting as though He is dead, or considering there must be further sacrifice on His part, is dangerous thinking.
There are those who behave in this way, and that reflects poor and misleading leadership.
The women folks went to the tomb on resurrection morning prepared to anoint the dead body of Jesus.
There had been two Sabbaths on consecutive days; hence the delay.
Jesus Christ was not crucified on a Friday and again it is misleading leadership and teaching that portrays that.
When I saw this important truth I corrected the error within my own thinking.
Jesus Christ was in the grave for three days and three nights.
In the light of that work it out.
That massive stone sealing the door of the tomb had been moved, and there was no dead body.
What had happened? Dead men don't rise! Angels appeared, asking why the women were looking for the living among the dead.
This is the cemetery.
He is not here.
He is risen.
Do you not remember what Jesus explained when He was with you? Jesus told you He would be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and on the third day be raised.
Then they remembered His words.
Problems, fears and anxieties appear, when we forget what Jesus Christ has said.
How much trouble and bother has man got into over these past years because he thought he could run life better than the way the Creator intended it to be run and lived? They were hearing what common sense was saying, rather than what Jesus had said.
It is not easy for common sense to come to terms with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but Jesus does not become angry with us if we do not get it right first time round.
No other religious leader remains alive! That also makes one stop and think, and contemplate and perhaps examine the facts.
Yes, this is leadership of a very different kind and quality, and this Leader says "Follow Me".
