Seven Tips on How to Be More Interesting
Tired of your usual boring conversations that don't go anywhere? Want to learn how to be more interesting? You're about to learn seven tips on how to be more interesting that you can start using today! Let's begin...
Tip 1: Be More Interested I've decided to start this guide on how to be more interesting with the most commonly given piece of advice out there: be more interested in others.
While this piece of advice is very cliché and was given by Dale Carnegie almost a century ago, it still holds very true.
While it can be very nice to have thousands of things to talk about regarding yourself, being truly interested in others makes for a much more interesting conversation for the other person.
Tip 2: Develop New Unique Hobbies If you want to spice up your usual conversations try taking up some new and unique hobbies.
Sure you can take up those usual stereotypical hobbies like playing guitar or running but more unique hobbies will fascinate and awe those that have never heard of them before.
For example, learn a less known instrument or start participating in ultra running (a very interesting type of running).
Tip 3: Join Local Clubs Joining a local club may not be the best start for how to be more interesting but through the process of being in this club you'll likely meet interesting folks with interesting stories to tell.
And you may even make a few friends! Through this, you may even enrich your life with new experiences that everyone will want to hear.
Tip 4: Get A Pet Having a pet places you in a new world with new terms, new requirements, and a new thing to show off to your friends.
You could opt for a low maintenance pet like a fish or something more difficult and exotic like a pet Amazon Grey! Tip 5: Travel Traveling is one of my favorite ways of having interesting stories to tell.
Each new place you visit has a new handful of stories that you'll come back with.
In addition, you'll most likely meet new and interesting people that will make your life interesting! Tip 6: Become Knowledgeable in "Pop Culture" Knowing what cool movies, music, concerts, and artists are in town is a big plus for making for interesting conversation.
Being in the "know" for pop culture allows you to participate in conversation with others that you couldn't if you hadn't done some research.
Simply by keeping yourself up to date on the latest trends and fads you'll never have to worry about that awkward silence when your friend brings up a new movie they just saw.
Tip 7: Be a Renaissance Person - Try Everything Trying new things and having new experiences gives you many more conversation topics to address when talking to others.
If all you do is play video games you're going to have a hard time talking to anybody unless they also play video games all day.
By having a wide variety of interests you open yourself up for conversation with many varieties of people.
