Create A Gratitude Scrapbook With These 3 Fun Sections
Section one. Memories. Reflect on the past.
As you think back on your childhood, teen years and such, what are some of your happiest memories? Was it writing your banana seat bike down a steep hill? Running through a corn field until you felt lost? Winning a contest? Waking up Christmas morning and rushing downstairs to check out the Christmas tree? Grandmas warm chocolate chip cookies? Going to the drive-in movies with your friends?
Use the first section of your gratitude scrapbook to reflect on some of these special memories. Look for old photos that can be used in your layouts. If you cant find a photo, then download an image from a site such as Google Images. Enhance your layouts with sticker messages, short journal entries and embellishments.
Section two. Everyday blessings. Big and little.
As you think about more recent things and people that youre thankful for, include these items in the next section of your scrapbook. Begin by creating a list of things on a piece of paper. What are the really big things in your life that you appreciate? What are the little things that bring a smile to your face? As you begin to create your list, youll start thinking of ways you want to incorporate these ideas into your layouts. Again, include photos when possible.
If you received a special card from someone, use portions of the card in your layouts. Thankful for a special family trip? Ticket stubs, post cards and such will add a special touch to your layouts.
Section three. Feeling grateful. Journaling.
Use the last section of your gratitude scrapbook mainly for journaling. You might choose to journal once a week or just whenever the mood strikes you. Write about people and things that you appreciate. Even if youre currently going through a difficult time, journal about the things that give you hope and encourage you to keep going.
As you journal, create layouts that support your journaling. For example, if you decide to journal about your joy in watching the arrival of spring with its budding trees, blooming flowers and chirping birds, then find background paper that has a spring theme. Include floral stickers, mini cloth flowers and other spring-like embellishments to your layout.
