How to Troubleshoot the Stereo SAP on a Magnavox DVD Player
- 1). Push the white and red audio cables connected to the back of the Magnavox firmly into the jacks and check the connections on the other end to ensure that the cables are seated firmly so the audio signal is connected from the DVD player to the AV receiver or to a television if the Magnavox is connected directly to a TV.
- 2). Turn on the Magnavox, the AV receiver and the TV, then press the "Open" button on the Magnavox remote control to load a pre-recorded DVD. Close the tray and wait a moment for the DVD to load so that it displays on the TV.
- 3). Press the up and down arrow keys on the Magnavox remote to scroll through the options for the DVD displayed on the TV. Choose "Setup" or "Audio," depending on the wording on the DVD.
- 4). Check the available audio tracks to verify there is more than one track available to hear on the disc. The SAP feature on the Magnavox will not work if there is only one audio track encoded on the disc.
- 5). Press the up or down arrow key to scroll through the available audio tracks, then select the desired track and press "Enter" to return to the main DVD menu. Press "Play" to start the disc. If this step is not performed before starting the DVD, the Magnavox player will automatically read the default audio track, which is typically the main soundtrack for the movie, in English.
- 6). Press the "SAP" button on the Magnavox DVD player remote control repeatedly while the disc is playing to switch among the available soundtracks.
