Football Painting Ideas for My Bedroom

Create a room inspired by your love of football by choosing colors and designs that evoke your favorite past-time. Painting your bedroom with a football theme will complement other football-themed decor like bedspreads, posters and curtains. Look at the architecture of the room when choosing colors. Since dark colors tend to make a room feel smaller, pick lighter colors for small spaces. - Chalkboard paint creates a surface for mapping out plays and keeping score. It goes on as easily as regular paint and comes in a variety of colors so you can match it to the rest of your room. Use chalkboard paint on an entire wall, or paint a rectangle with a decorative border. You can even paint a football field with chalkboard paint, complete with white yard lines for mapping out plays more easily.
- Every football team has its own colors. Use the colors of your favorite team for your walls. If the colors are too dark for the space, choose lighter shades or use a neutral color for the large spaces and the team colors for an accent wall and molding. If you have more than one favorite team, use NFL colors to set the stage for the rest of your decor.
- If you are artistically inclined, you can paint a mural featuring your favorite players. Use a photograph as a guide, and trace out the image before you start painting. If you are not comfortable painting a complicated image, hire an artist to paint it for you or use wall decals. You can also create a simpler mural by painting a football along with the helmets of your favorite teams.
- Use stencils to paint small football-themed images around windows and doors. Choose a few different images, like a football, helmet, jersey, pennant or trophy. Paint them in whatever order you choose, and repeat the pattern around the room.
