    • 1). Set the A300 scene selection to "Sports Action" depicted on the dial as a figure running. This setting will better capture moving subjects outdoors or in high lighting situations. If you are constrained by dim lighting conditions, you will need to set your "ISO Sensitivity" to 200 or higher. Locate the "ISO" label on your camera and use the up or down arrow key next to the label to adjust the settings. You will need to adjust the settings after each picture to precisely match the lighting conditions.

    • 2). Adjust your shutter speed to capture a still photo of the action in time. Set the Shutter Speed Mode Dial to "S" and use the control dial to turn up the shutter speed until you get a good capture that "freezes" the action crisply.

    • 3). Try various angles to capture that perfect shoot. Get low to the ground, shoot up at an angle and let the action come to you -- or position yourself above the action and shoot down into it. You might even try shooting through the crowd to capture the emotion of the event.

    • 4). Press the shutter button halfway down once you have your angle and hold it until you are ready to capture the shot you want. Press the button all the way down once you get your shot. The camera will snap shots continuously until you let up on the shutter button.
