How to Use Hands-Free Calling on a Car Stereo
- 1). Turn on the stereo. Choose the Bluetooth connection option from the menu. Consult your owner's manual for accessing the Bluetooth options.
- 2). Enable the Bluetooth connectivity of your stereo. The stereo will search for available connections in range of the unit.
- 3). Enable Bluetooth connectivity on your cell phone. The cell phone will be "discoverable" once you have engaged the feature. The menu on the phone and the stereo will indicate that the two devices have found each other. Enter the code for your stereo's Bluetooth connection on your phone. The code can be found in the vehicle owner's manual (for factory stereos) or in the accompanying manual for aftermarket stereos.
- 4). Control the call operation using the stereo controls. When you receive a call, the music will fade so the ringer can be heard. Accept the call via the designated answer control button. Use another button to end the call. The exact sequence of buttons and their functions will vary among vehicle makes.
