How to Regedit to Disallow Kav Policies
- 1). Launch the Kaspersky Anti-Virus software program by clicking the corresponding icon on the Windows system tray, adjacent to the system clock.
- 2). Click "Settings," located on the top-right corner.
- 3). Choose "Options," located on the left pane.
- 4). Deselect the check box that corresponds to the "Enable Self-Defense" option, under the "Self-Defense" section. Click "Apply" and click "OK."
- 1). Launch the Registry Editor by clicking the Windows "Start" menu. Choose "Run," type "regedit" in the dialog box and click "OK." The Registry Editor opens.
- 2). Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" hive on the left pane by clicking the corresponding "+" sign.
- 3). Expand the "Software" sub-folder and double-click the sub-folder that corresponds to "Kaspersky," "Kaspersky Anti-Virus" or "KAV."
- 4). Find the policies you wish to disallow through the "Find" tool, if necessary. Click "Edit" menu and choose "Find..." The "Find" dialog box opens.
- 5). Enter "Kaspersky" in the "Find what" text field and click "Find Next" button. Double-click the policy keys you wish to disable.
- 6). Enter the number "1" in the "Value data" text field in the dialog box that opens and click "OK." Close the Registry Editor utility.
