How to Kill Weeds in Brick Driveways
- 1). Pour boiling water in the spaces among the bricks. Use a kettle with a narrow spout to direct the water straight into the crack.
- 2). Burn your driveway weeds with a propane-fueled flame weeder. Position the tool 6 inches above the plant and turn the flame on for three to five seconds.
- 3). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Spot test the driveway for colorfastness by spraying an inconspicuous brick. If the color doesn't fade, spray newly sprouted weeds with the vinegar. This treatment might not work on mature plants.
- 4). Cover your driveway with a piece of black plastic mulch in the hottest part of the day. Weigh the entire perimeter of the sheet down with bricks or rocks so cooler air can't get under. Leave the plastic undisturbed for two days to bake the weeds.
