How to Install a VCR Without a Tuner to Record Programs

    • 1). Turn off the power to all components before connecting them.

    • 2). Fasten a coaxial cable from the "RF OUT" jack on the back of the cable box, or other source component, to the "RF IN" jack on the back of the VCR. The VCR jack may also be labeled "CABLE IN" or "ANT IN." Rotate the connector on each end of the cable clockwise, as far as it will turn to complete the hook up.

    • 3). Hook up the second coaxial cable from the "RF OUT" jack on the VCR to the "RF IN" jack on the back of your TV set. The TV jack may also be labeled "ANT IN."

    • 4). Tune the source component to the channel you wish to record and set the TV to channel 3 or 4. You can switch on the TV to watch the program, while recording on the VCR, if desired.
