How to Make Teddy Bear Eyes Out of Paper
- 1). Measure the bear's button or embroidered nose at the widest point. A teddy bear's eyes will normally be about 1/3 to 1/2 of this measurement. Making the eyes a little smaller than the nose gives the bear a traditional look. Alternatively, cut out a few scrap paper circles in differing sizes and test them on the bear's face until you determine a size you like.
- 2). Draw two circles the size you want using a pencil and compass, or trace two circles from a coin or button of the desired size.
- 3). Color the circles brown using a craft marker.
- 4). Outline the circles with a 1/8-inch black border.
- 5). Draw a small black dot in the center of each eye, for the pupil. Enlarge the pupil as desired.
- 6). Cut out the eyes with scissors, then trace them onto the paper and cut out the two uncolored circles.
- 7). Glue the uncolored circles to the back of the eyes using a glue stick.
- 8). Lay the eyes on a sheet of wax paper. Spray them with craft varnish and allow them to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions. Apply a second coat of varnish, and allow it to dry.
- 9). Hold the eyes up to the bear's face to determine their positions. Glue the eyes in place with a hot-glue gun.
