Making Lotion and Shower Gel
- 1). Combine 1-½ oz. of vitamin E oil or sweet almond oil with ½ oz. of cocoa butter, ½ oz. of vegetable glycerin and 1-½ tbsp. of emulsifying wax in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture for 20-second intervals in the microwave until everything is melted together. Stir after every other heating interval.
- 2). Remove the bowl from the microwave and gradually blend in 1 cup of water. This blending process should be very slow to allow the mixture to create a creamy consistency.
- 3). Gradually add 40 to 50 drops of your choice of essential oils for fragrance. Add a few drops at a time, then mix into the cream with your hand mixer. Continue until the fragrance is as you like it, but don't over-mix it.
- 4). Pour the creamy mixture into your lotion container and let it cool before placing the lid on.
- 5). Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
