How to Make Fun Team Spirit Items

    • 1). Use objects that you already have. Keep it simple and refrain from spending extra money by going through your closet for clothing or objects that match the team colors. Modify a sweatshirt by cutting around the collar to make it more open or broad. Cut the sleeves off as well. Attach team patches or iron on letters with the team name. Use iron on numbers to put your favorite team member's number on the back. To stand out even more, use glow in the dark iron ons.

    • 2). Modify last year's team gear. Or visit a thrift store and pick up old sports team shirts or shorts. Make an old team shirt into a tank top or even a headband. Use scissors to cut existing fabric. Hem the fabric so the cut areas don't fray.

    • 3). Start from scratch. Make a series of creative signs on poster board for you and your friends to hold. Create catchy slogans that include the team name. If the phrase is long enough, have each person hold one or two words of the phrase. Make up your own team cheer. Print the cheer in large letters on the poster boards. Encourage other fans at the game to cheer with you.

    • 4). Make accessories, like buttons of all sizes, showing your team name or logo. Create team-oriented hair accessories by using fabric paint pens to spell out the team name on the ribbon. Thicker ribbon works best. Purchase cheap canvas tennis shoes and use fabric paint pens to decorate them with team colors. Switch out the generic white shoe laces for glittery laces or spirals.
