How to Splice With EPDM
- 1). Lay the first two pieces of EPDM you want to splice together on a flat surface in front of you.
- 2). Clean a 3-inch section along the two edges of the EPDM you will be joining together using unleaded gasoline and an old cloth.
- 3). Apply a piece of splicing tape to the clean edge of your first piece of EPDM.
- 4). Cut away any excess splicing tape from the piece of EPDM with your scissors.
- 5). Remove the paper backing on the splicing tape attached to your piece of EPDM to expose the second sticky side.
- 6). Place the clean edge of the second piece of EPDM on top of the splicing tape.
- 7). Roll a rolling pin or a paint roller along the join in the two pieces of EPDM to secure the splicing.
- 8). Repeat Steps 1 through 7 to splice the remaining pieces of EPDM.
