    Crisp Cotton Poplin

    • Cotton poplin is a woven cotton fabric, heavier than cotton lawn but lighter than sateen. Cotton poplin is easily printed in bright, bold colors, and the detail achieved in the print can be very fine. Poplin is a fairly lightweight fabric and is sometimes sheer, so do not use it to cover an already-bright and vivid print. Use it to cover a solid, lightly covered binder, if possible.

    Yarndye Flannel Plaid

    • Yarndye plaids are created by weaving already-dyed yarns together in a pattern, creating the plaid. Yarndye plaids come in a variety of different fabrications, from cotton poplin to flannel. Flannel is a cozy, brushed fabric used extensively in sleepwear. Yarndye flannel is capable of being as bright as you like and comes in a variety of different color combinations. Yarndye fabric is normally full coverage, so it can cover just about any kind of old binder fabric.

    Satin

    • Satin can be made of polyester or silk, For the purposes of covering a binder, polyester satin is just fine. Satin is a lustrous, thick fabric used for wedding and evening dresses. It is considered an expensive and elegant fabric and makes an excellent covering for a wedding or special event binder. Satin is thick enough to cover any old covering and is perfect for any binder. Satin is not normally printed, so a solid color of satin is a good choice. To add interest, embellish the satin with crystals or beads hot-glued onto the satin in a pattern.

    Duck

    • Duck is a very thick fabric, often made from cotton, and used as upholstery fabric. Upholstery-specific fabrics have beautiful floral prints, vivid stripes and damasks in every color. Toille is often a fabric associated with home decor, but can make a beautiful binder covering. Colors come in a broad range, depending on the print and style, from pastels to neon hues. Because it is so thick, it covers even the most awful old binder color. Embroider the fabric with your initials or a design for added interest.
