Have you noticed how most married couples desire to have their own children? Perhaps you have also observed how some would opt for adoption instead due to their inability to conceive.
For many couples, a family is not complete without kids.
There are also those who want children in order to have someone to inherit their investments? in life.
Whatever the reason, children provide fulfillment to married couples mostly in terms of the happiness and making the family whole.
A new study has actually confirmed that children indeed bring happiness to couples.
This, despite the problems and stress they can cause in the family.
The research done by economist Dr.
Luis Angeles from Scotland's Glasgow University revealed two important findings.
One is that raising children makes married couples happier and the second is that the more kids people have, the greater is the happiness they experience.
The study covered nearly 90,000 parents in the United Kingdom who were asked about their level of satisfaction in their life.
It is also published in the Springer's Journal of Happiness Studies.
It should be noted, though, that this research only focused on married couples.
Dr.
Angeles pointed out that couples who are not married but who live together and have children are not contented with their lives.
He explained that the reason could be that the spouses are not totally committed to raising children although they were decided on having their own kids.
For married couples, a baby is a blessing but unfortunately for those who are not, they see kids as a possible source of their problems.
Other findings of the research are that women tend to be happier when raising kids than their male partners and that married couples who have three children experience a higher level of satisfaction and happiness compared to those who have less kids.
With these latest findings, it is really up to the couples to have children or not.
What counts is that when a husband and wife decide to have kids, there should be total commitment to raise them well to become responsible and useful citizens in the future.
Parenthood comes with a huge responsibility and if couples are not that dedicated to raising their family in the best possible way they can, the children can become their problem later on.
Financially, couples need to prepare for the arrival of their children as well.
More kids means more financial obligations going forward and if there's no steady of source of income for the family, this can also be a source of conflict for the parents.
It's absolutely normal for families to go through trials.
Having children is not an easy task but for committed parents, the benefits are far greater than the disadvantages.
Raising kids may give them a tough time at the beginning however, when you see your children grow up and you are there with them every step of the way, any parent will experience a rewarding feeling and they won't trade this with anything else.
