Something Good Is Going to Happen
There are so many professional and motivational speakers out there and they have a common theme.
The theme of positive thinking or constantly affirming that you can 'do it' every single day is oftentimes the message they portray.
It sounds very simple when you actually listen to it.
Whenever things aren't going the way you imagine for yourself, just be the one positive voice in your world when no one else is and tell yourself that it is possible and that something good is going to happen to you.
That is definitely harder to actually do.
After so many years of thinking, acting, reacting, and being a certain way, it's not just going to be something that is done over night.
After an abusive childhood, one may or may not win 'father of the year' award without some major life changing event happening.
There are numerous studies out there saying that we are all products of our environment and childhood.
I disagree with them to an extent.
You will in some cases resort back to your childhood and recall how your parents handled a situation when you face something similar as a parent, but you have the ability to also take it in a new direction.
We go through certain things and we mature.
We sometimes go through certain situations over and over until we learn whatever it is we need to learn from that situation and I'd venture to say that we will not go through certain things again.
How we break out of that repetitive cycle is not trying to change anything external of us, but changing our mindset.
We have to look internal for external changes.
Telling yourself that something is going to happen is a start, but after doing it for only a week when you spent your whole life with a different mentality doesn't quite cut the mustard.
There will also be some days when the motivation to even change your situation will simply not be there.
Just telling yourself that something good is going to happen and that you can do it, can sometimes be the hardest thing to even think.
It can be like trying to jump start a car that hasn't been running for a month on a cold winter morning.
The thing is we have to in some cases think that something good is going to happen.
So now that we have that thought, we need to increase upon it.
We now have enough motivation to mumble it.
Mumbling that something good is going to happen to me is a start.
You may not necessarily believe it just yet, but now you have said it.
Say it a little louder next time and hear it.
That will get it spoken and heard by you and that will start triggering your faith and motivation.
Keep on saying it until you have the passion, conviction, and believe it.
Once you believe it, you can achieve it.
