    Television Does Not Turn On

    • Ensure the television is plugged securely into the wall socket power supply. Check the electrical outlet is operating as it should by testing another appliance in the same socket. Also, try checking the front panel controls are not locked. Access the "Parental Control" menu and select "Front Panel Block." Deselect by unchecking the box.

    Television Turns Off By Itself

    • Check the sleep timer has not been activated by pressing the main Menu button on the remote or set, selecting the Time Menu, and ensuring the status is set to "Off." Ensure your household voltage is neither too high nor too low. In the event of a power surge the "Electronic Protection Circuit" will have been activated and turned the television off. Wait 30 seconds and turn the television on again. If all else fails, unplug the television and wait for 10 minutes before turning on again.

    Television Turns On By Itself

    • Ensure the wake-up timer, or auto-on feature, has not been activated. The wake-up timer settings can also be accessed via the Time Menu from the main Menu. Uncheck the box to deactivate the wake-up timer. Do the same for the auto-on feature. Also, ensure the buttons on the remote control are not being depressed accidentally, do not have anything jamming the buttons, and that the remote itself has not suffered any trauma.

No Picture, No Sound, But the Television is On

    • Ensure the "Cable/Air" function is set to the correct position. Enter the Channel Setup Menu via the main Menu and select "Cable" if you are connected to a cable supplier, or select "Air" if you are using an antenna. Ensure there is no disruption to the broadcaster. Check other broadcast channels to confirm. Also, tune the television to channel 3 or 4 when using a VCR connected with a coaxial cable to the "Cable/Antenna" jack. Ensure the VCR is also in the correct mode.

The Channel Search Function Doesn't Find Any Channels

    • Ensure the input cable connected to the analog or digital input is not loose. Be sure to experiment with positioning any off-air antenna higher. This usually stands a great chance of improving reception. Also, make sure the cable television input is connected to the analog input. Do not connect it to the digital input.

    Remote Control is Malfunctioning

    • Ensure there is a clear sight path between the remote and the remote sensor on the television. Anything blocking the remote will prevent it communicating correctly with the television. Also, make sure the remote is in TV mode. Press the TV button on the remote control. Lastly, remove the batteries and depress the number one key for at least one minute to drain the microprocessor. Release the number one key and replace the batteries. Repeat and re-program the remote if necessary.
