How to Use a Photo Copier
- 1). Load the paper tray with copy paper. If you're making standard, letter size copies, load the tray with 8-by- 11-inch paper. For legal size copies, load the correct tray with 11-by-13-inch paper. Make sure to stay under the "Full" line, as overloading the paper tray can cause a paper jam.
- 2). Turn the photo copier on and allow it to warm up. This may take up to a couple minutes, depending on the age and model of the copier.
- 3). Lift the cover of the copier and place the document that you want to copy face down on the glass. Look for the marks on the side of the glass that tell you exactly how and where to place the document. Close the cover once it is correctly positioned. If the photo copier has a document feeder, place the document inside the feeder; there is no need to lift the cover. Most feeders require you to place the document face up, but the correct placement should be marked on the feeder.
- 4). Select the specifics of your print job. Enter the number of copies you want to make. Some photo copiers have options to collate and staple copies, and also allow users to make two-sided copies, so select the options you want for your copies.
- 5). Press the "Copy" or "Start" button to start the photo copier. Most of the time, this button will be the largest button on the copier, and it is usually green in color.
