    • 1). Reboot your computer.
      The easiest step is to shut down your computer then wait 30 seconds and turn it on again. This process will have your computer start from a new setting. All of the minute little applications will be closed of not causing the slow processing of your computer.

    • 2). Empty your Recycle Bin.
      When was the last time you emptied your recycle bin? Now would be the time to empty it because it definitely accrues a lot of deleted files that take up memory. What if you deleted a whole pdf file book? Well it's still there on your computer's memory unless you empty the recycle bin.

    • 3). Uninstall unused programs
      Go to start>control panel> add/remove programs and there you will find a list of all the programs on your computer. If you find a program that you haven't used and are not planning to then you can safely delete it by following the uninstalling wizard on your computer. If you are unsure of a program either Google it or don't delete it at all.

    • 4). Defragment all of your drives.
      This is a great feature that you should do at least once a month. You can program this application automatically so you won't forget! Go to My Computer>right click properties> tools>defragment. This process reorganizes your scattered files making a faster computer.

    • 5). Use Scan Disk
      This feature spots and fixes errors on your computer drives. This should be used every week and you can program it to automatic as well. Look at the above step for similar directions.
