Hi, I'm Sharon Whelchel filming here in Tustin, California from my crochet studio from my Etsy shop, Starlike, and today I'm going to be teaching you guys how to join a double crochet chain. So first of all I've already stitched a double crochet chain and I've just chained about 20 stitches around and now I'm adding double crochet in each stitch. So I'm just going to finish doing that and then when you reach the last stitch, this is where you are going to be joining it. So you have two options. You can either insert your hook into the space between the first two double crochets or into the top loops of that first double crochet. I prefer doing it through the top loop since it gives it a bit better of a shape. So I'm going to insert my hook through those top two loops, yarn over and pull through and I'm slip stitching so I'm going to pull all the way through. And then to begin your next row you can just go ahead and chain. And that is how you join a double crochet chain.
