How to Lose Outside Eyebrow Hair
- 1). Use tweezers if you have little funding. You can remove the hair that is outside of your eyebrow line, or the area where your eyebrow hair grows as one collected bunch, one by one with tweezers. To do so, grasp the tweezers between your thumb and forefinger. Slide one side of the tweezers along the skin and under the hair, so that the hair is in between each arm of the tweezers. Use your fingers to close the tweezers on the hair and pull outward, so your hand is moving parallel to the ground. The hair should come out that way. If you are interested in shaping the eyebrows, use an eyeliner pencil and draw around the area you want to keep. Tweeze everything outside of this area. There is a slight chance of bleeding when tweezing, and there is always a little discomfort associated with tweezing eyebrows. If you experience copious bleeding, contact your physician.
- 2). Eyebrow threading is another inexpensive option that many stores offer. Threading simply removes the hair by pinching the hairs between two strips of thread and removing them. Although the hair does grow back, it grows back much slower than if the hair was removed by tweezers (the threading technique removes the hair very close to the follicle).
- 3). Another option is eyebrow waxing. You can buy at-home wax kits at supermarkets, superstores, and drug stores, or you can go to a salon and have a professional wax your eyebrows for you. Wax binds to the hair and essentially does what tweezing does, except that you can remove almost all the unwanted hair at once through waxing, so it saves time. At-home waxing kits have instructions on how to remove a certain area of hair; in most kits, you need to cut the shape of your desired eyebrow out of the waxing paper, and the waxing paper will remove all the hair around your cutting. At-home wax kits provide several strips with the wax pre-applied, so you can use the kit more than once.
- 4). If you have a bit more money to use, laser hair removal is an option. Contact a laser specialist to discuss pricing options. Laser hair removal is a great option because it completely removes the hair follicles, so you never have to pluck or wax again; however, it is much more expensive than the previous options, often requires multiple surgeries, and is not conducive to eyebrow shaping.
- 5). If you decide to remove your eyebrow hair through laser surgery, you can also discuss getting your eyebrows completely removed. This may seem like a drastic measure, but the procedure is quite popular. Those who decide to remove their eyebrows permanently pencil them in each morning with an eyeliner pencil or have them permanently tattooed in. These options are, of course, the most costly.
