Breaking Through Blogging Barriers
As a blogger, we all know how difficult the first few months are because we have no traffic at all so how do people continue to write even if they have no traffic or no visitors.
We are plagued with questions of the eventual success of our blog.
The first thing is to recall that we are not here to blog for other people, if you are blogging to become rich and famous, you probably have the wrong profession because right now, blogging isn't exactly the best way to get a lot of money.
If you are blogging to eventually become well known, that's alright but lets focus on the present.
If we are in the present then we can be more realistic.
How many blog posts do you post a day? Setting up traffic is the least important thing right now because if you aren't blogging, what's the point in worrying about traffic.
People will come when there is something to look at.
Updating is the first thing we do when we set up our new blog.
Well, okay we probably look at the layout and hate it so much we want to change it or we set up the site so we can blog but when we have everything all set up and perfected starting that first blog is probably the second hardest thing you'll do for your blog.
The hardest thing for you will be continue writing in the blog while there's no traffic.
You may feel like there's no purpose in having a blog if people aren't reading it.
Post a few blog posts, I'd say roughly 20-30 blog posts before worrying about traffic.
If you've already started writing in your blog, it doesn't matter how many posts you have in your blog, you should go check out other peoples blogs.
If you've found something you like or enjoy reading, go ahead and comment.
Be sure your comments are realistic and stay on point of what the post was about.
There's no point in linking to your blog if you're going to spam people.
There's the option of putting your name, website address (put your blog link here) and then comment.
People that write the blogs you've commented on will appreciate your comment and visit.
They might return the favor but there's no promise.
Not only will the person the write the blog see your post but also people that read the particular blog you commented on.
Linking to your blog is a great way to drive traffic to your blog but don't do it too much at once.
Once you've started building your blogging community, you'll be able to see the increase of traffic to your blog.
If you're not happy with how much traffic you have, tweet about your posts, post your blog on Facebook, discuss with your friends about your blog, and most important thing of all be sure you post! Don't get discouraged if you think your blog is boring because other people might not think that way.
People love reading blogs and some people get excited over boring life stories and others get excited over stories about gardening.
Not everything appeals to everybody so be prepared to have a lot of one time visitors.
Over time you'll develop a fan base and that's when you know you're doing a good job.
Keep blogging regularly whether it's once a day, or twice a week.
Don't slack off too much but it's okay to slack off every once in awhile just like dieting, we need breaks sometimes! Barriers are there because we put them there, don't forget that!
