    • 1). Slough away dead, scarred skin by applying a scrub made with oats and baking soda. Baking soda particles are smooth and will not damage the skin and oats contain skin-smoothing nutrients like vitamin E. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of raw oats with 2 tbsp. of baking soda. Pour in 1 tsp. of water and stir the mixture together. Use your fingers to spread the mixture onto your face and rub it around gently for 2 to 3 minutes. This will effectively dislodge discolored and scarred skin so that it can be removed. One added benefit of including baking soda in the scrub is that it is an antibacterial substance that helps kill off acne-causing bacteria. This prevents new acne from forming while lifting small acne scars from the face.

    • 2). Tighten and lighten the skin using an egg-white mask. Egg whites contain large amounts of protein and amino acids, which can tighten the pores-keeping them closed to prevent new acne-while lightening scarred skin. In a small bowl, whip 3 egg whites until they become fluffy and light. Use your fingers to spread the egg whites onto your skin. Allow the egg whites to dry on the skin. Once dry, rinse away the egg whites with very warm water.

    • 3). Dissolve dead skin and tighten the pores by applying a lemon-juice toner. Lemon juice is extremely acidic and will effectively lighten the skin while disintegrating discolored skin. Concentrated lemon juice can be purchased at any grocery store and can be applied to the skin full-strength. Lemon juice can be sprayed onto the skin by filling a clean spray bottle with lemon juice then spritzing the skin after washing. Lemon juice can also be applied by soaking a washcloth in the juice and wiping it over your face. Allow the juice to dry on the skin. Repeat three times per day.
