  If you like making crafts, try creating items that can double as decorations for your home. There are lots of items that are fun and easy to make that will look great in just about any space. Make something from scratch or decorate a plain item so that it fits your style and the decor of your home.
  
  

Ceramics

• Create ceramic decorations for your home. You can easily do this at a store that creates plain ceramic items, then lets their customers paint or personalize them. The store then fires the pieces to preserve the decorations. Choose a set of canisters for your kitchen. Paint the canisters in a color that coordinates with your kitchen, then write different words on the canisters, such as "flour," "sugar" and "pasta." You also could decorate plates and hang them on your wall. For example, paint three plates and monogram one of your initials on each.
  
  

Coasters

• Make your own coasters using wine corks. Save the corks from bottles of wine or purchase some from a craft store. Use a square piece of wood for the base of this craft. Next, cut all of the corks in half lengthwise so that they will lie flat on the piece of wood. Glue the corks onto the wood using super glue or wood adhesive. You can line the corks up in a straight line or create a design by cutting some of the corks into smaller pieces so that they fit onto the coaster base.
  
  

Mosaic

• Decorate something in your home by using mosaic tiles. You could use small square tiles from a craft store, or purchase larger tiles and break them into pieces to create more of an abstract design. Use super glue to attach the tiles to the picture frame, small table or other element you are decorating. Grout the surface, making sure to wipe all of the grout off of the surface of the tiles before it dries.
  
  

Words

• Choose plain wooden letters from a craft store or home improvement store to decorate your walls. Use the letters to spell out your last name, a religious scripture or a verse from a poem that you love. Paint the letters in a color that coordinates with your room, or paint a design onto them, such as polka dots or stripes.
