    Rip Van Winkle

    • Passengers on the Rip Van Winkle enjoy seasonal views of the Hudson River and its shores, stretching from Kingston down to Hyde Park. Operated by Hudson River Cruises, the Rip Van Winkle cruise offers tourists a sightseeing adventure that features many of the historic mansions and lighthouses along the Hudson. Highlights include views of the Rondout Lighthouse, Esopus Meadows Lighthouse, Wyndcliff Mansion, Dinsmore, Wilderstein and Vanderbilt Mansion. In addition to historic day cruises, special fall foliage and murder mystery cruises depart from Rondout Landing. Charter cruises are also available upon the Rip Van Winkle. Smoking is not allowed on the ship.

    The Lark: Hudson River Water Taxi

    • Also operated by Hudson River Cruises, The Lark is a water taxi service that runs between the Rondout Landing dock in Kingston and the dock near the Amtrak train station in Rhinecliff. This short cruise allows passengers a close-up view of the Rondout Lighthouse, located at the mouth of Rondout Creek. Reservations are required.

    The Motor Yacht Teal

    • Originally built in 1961 on Harker's Island in N. Carolina, the Motor Yacht Teal has been renovated and upgraded to accommodate modern expectations of comfort while cruising. North River Charters operates the Motor Yacht Teal and offers both private charter cruises along with a variety of public cruises, including sightseeing trips and special themed cruises. DJs and local bands often provide live music as you cruise the Hudson River. The motor yacht departs from the Kingston City Marina.

    Kayak Cruise

    • Kayak tours, hosted by the Forcyth Nature Center, are geared toward nature lovers who want to get a workout while enjoying the waters and scenery of the Hudson River. The two-hour guided tour of the Hudson and its shoreline offers passengers a close-up view of wildlife including bald eagles, turtles, ducks, and songbirds. Kayak tours depart from either the public kayak launch at Rondout Landing or tourists may choose to depart from Kingston Point Beach. The price for the tour includes use of the kayak and paddle, life jacket and a guide who narrates the experience. Beginning kayakers as well as people with more experience are welcome. Tours run from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
