How to Download Movies to an iPod With Video
- 1). Download and install the latest version of iTunes (see Resources).
- 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer. Click "File" at the top of the iTunes' menu. Click "Add to Library" from the pull-down menu to locate your movie file.
- 3). Click the movie file once to highlight it, and click the "Open" button to import it into iTunes. Alternatively, locate the movie file on your computer and drag and drop the file to the "Movies" tab in the iTunes' sidebar, located on the left side of the program window.
- 4). Click "Movies" located underneath the "Library" header in the iTunes' source list. Click the imported movie file once to highlight it.
- 5). Click "Advanced" at the top of the iTunes menu and click "Create iPod or iPhone Version" in the pull-down menu. This will convert your movie file to an iPod-compatible MP4 format. The process may take several minutes, depending on the speed of your computer and the size of the movie file.
- 6). Insert the iPod cable with the USB icon into an empty USB port on your computer and insert the other end into the bottom of your iPod. The iPod icon will automatically appear under the "Devices" header in the iTunes source list.
- 7). Select the iPod icon to view the "Summary" window and click the "Movies" tab in the iPod window. Select the check box next to "Sync Movies" to include movies in your iPod synchronization and click the blank box next to the imported movie to add it to the synchronization list.
- 8). Click the "Apply" button to save and sync your iPod. Click "Controls" at the top of the iTunes menu and select "Eject iPod" from the drop-down menu. Unplug the iPod cable from the iPod to disconnect once the iPod tab disappears from the iTunes' sidebar.
