I feel we were all born with leadership qualities, but those qualities eroded as we went through the process of growing up.
As youngsters, we had leadership qualities - constantly craving for more information, with a unending imagination; we knew precisely what we wanted to accomplish and we were determined to get there.
Nothing seemed out of reach.
Then we got older and what happened? As youngsters we became accustomed to hearing, You can't do this or you can't do that.
This routine carried on into high school with our teachers telling us what we should do and what we shouldn't do and what they considered achievable.
Then a lot of us went on to college where they taught us skills that gave us the ability to take orders instead of developing the leader inside each of us.
They needed us to obey to keep the machine known as corporate running smoothly.
They created sheep instead of lions.
They wouldn't teach us how to be independent, creative and self-reliant.
Rebuilding those leadership qualities demands that you retrain yourself.
To become that successful leader again you will need you to become brave and look deep inside, remember those dreams you had when you were a child.
Here are 4 simple steps you'll be able to use to capture and ignite the leader in you.
1.
You must be willing to serve others.
The ability to serve others comes with improving yourself.
Reaching out for more knowledge because that is what excellence really is.
Always growing and wanting to improve yourself, by doing this you can share with others.
2.
Find your passion.
No matter how busy you think you are, take the time to follow what you love.
Become alive again and ignite that passion inside you.
When you're following your passion, others around you can sense that desire.
It doesn't matter what your passion is, it could be swimming, singing, dancing, painting, learning a new language.
It doesn't matter! Don't cheat yourself, set aside some time for you to pursue this.
3 Don't sell yourself short.
Don't be afraid to have big dreams.
Write down your dream and make a list of every reason you can think of why you can realize your dream.
Never let your mind think about why you can't.
4.
Visualize the triumph.
See yourself becoming successful.
Sense it with all that is within you.
If you can't see it you probably will not be able to experience it.
I hope this short article has given you some insight on how to re-attain those leadership qualities that were once inside all of us.
