Three Reasons We Overlook the Obvious in Relationships

103 12
We've all heard someone (including ourselves) at one point say "why didn't I see the signs" when a relationship has ended or is about to end.
There are numerous reasons why we overlook them.
Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes not so obvious.
The biggest reasons can be summed up into three basic categories as given below.
Honesty Often we will overlook our own wants and desires in order to just be in a relationship.
Whether it is desperation, being tired of looking, or not willing to give up something we are comfortable with we tend to ignore our own thoughts and feelings.
We will downplay things that bother us or rationalize them while ignoring what is really truly important.
Pride We are unwilling to admit that we made a mistake.
We do not want to look foolish in the eyes of our friends or family or perhaps even ourselves.
We can be so prideful sometimes that we are willing to sacrifice our happiness just so our egos will stay intact.
Our pride gets in the way of our happiness.
Fear This is the biggest factor of all and the most common.
We have fears of being alone for all of our lives or not providing for ourselves.
We will even fear that no one will ever love us again.
Fear can keep us paralyzed and keep us in dangerous situations.
You have to become strong and overcome this one, otherwise you could keep making the same mistakes again and again and again.
The reasons we overlook bad relationship signs can be one or a combination of all.
Others usually will see them since they are outside of the relationship.
Whether we are willing to choose to see them is mostly left up to us.
