Remove the Dial From Home Screen Option

• 1). Press the green "Talk" button to bring up the "Phone" screen on your BlackBerry Curve.
  
  
• 2). Press the "Menu" button, located directly to the right of the "Talk" button, to launch the pop-up menu. Press the letter "o" to jump to the "Options" item and then press the "Enter" key on the keyboard to select that item. Press "Enter" again to select "General Options."
  
  
• 3). Press the "Enter" key to scroll down to the next item until you reach the "Dial from Home Screen" option. Press the space bar to change this option to "No." Press the "Back" button to exit this screen and press "Enter" to confirm that you want to save your changes.
  
  

Navigate Without a Scroll Key

• 1). Press a letter key that corresponds to the application you want to launch. Each of the basic applications has a letter assigned to it, such as "A" for the address book and "S" for the search option.
  
  
• 2). Press the "Menu" key on any screen to open the pop-up menu. You can move through the menu by typing the first letter of whatever menu option you want to select, then press the "Enter" key to make your selection. If multiple options appear, press the letter multiple times until the desired item is highlighted.
  
  
• 3). Move through option lists by pressing the "Enter" key to access the next option. Press the space bar to cycle through the available choices for each option. When you are done making changes, press the "Back" button to exit to the previous screen. Press the "Enter" key to save your changes when asked.
  
  
• 4). Learn the individual hotkeys for each application. All of the main BlackBerry applications including the message application, the Web browser and the calendar have their own hotkeys that you can use to navigate through the application without the trackball. The "Enter" key or the space bar should usually work for choosing items from a list in most applications, although some third-party apps may not support these features.
