Video: Celtic Lettering for Druid Halloween Costume
Video Transcript
Many things about the druid costume are lost to the changes of history but some things are known. We do know about their language the Celtic lettering I have already mentioned. And I do know that in some ways these were used in tattoos at least some of the time or they were recorded down in other symbolic measures. So what we are going to do is we are going to take some liberty with history and we are going to draw in Celtic lettering on the forehead. And again we are doing this looking at our Celtic lettering guide. And we are going to keep this in the center of the forehead. Why this position? Well if you get down lower on the face you are basically going to have problems with the beard smudging it off. If you get too high up on the forehead the top of our robe is going to come down and smudge it off. So you are going to want to really keep in the middle of the forehead. There is this nice narrow band where you are going to be able to add in the Celtic lettering with a little risk of it being smudged away before the end of the evening. So this is a great place and what I recommend is basically an inch between each letter. You don't want to over do it. There is no need to have the whole alphabet up here. Basically having room for about three to four different letters will really add effect. When people look at this there is no way they are going to say that you are a monk. They will automatically think you're representing something more old world. Definitely a couple thousand years old. This language is not anything that is being written home about today.
