How to Make Rosettes for Sweaters

    • 1). Measure and cut out two pieces of colored card 12 inches long and two inches wide. These two pieces should be the same color.

    • 2). Score each card every inch on one side and every 1/2 inch on the reverse side by pressing lightly with the blade of the scissors or knife.

    • 3). Fold up the card in alternating directions along the score marks to make an accordion effect. Glue the ends of the two pieces together on the last folded tab, and repeat with the other loose ends to create a circle with jagged edges like a cog.

    • 4). Make a centerpiece for the rosette by cutting out a piece of card large enough to cover the hole in the middle of the rosette. This can be in any shape, color or design desired.

    • 5). Flatten the accordioned card, and glue the center piece onto it to make the rosette.

    • 6). Attach a safety pin to the back of the rosette with sticky tape so it can be fastened to a sweater without pulling at the fibers.
