How to Sync BlackBerry for Unbuntu
- 1). Open "System" and then "Administration." Select "Software Sources" to open the software sources page.
- 2). Add the following to your software sources:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/doctormo/barry-snapshot/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/doctormo/barry-snapshot/ubuntu lucid main
This installs necessary Martin Owens packages to your computer. - 3). Open "Synaptic Package Manager" from the main menu and search for then install:
barrybackup-gui
opensync-plugin-barry
barry-util - 4). Check for libopensync0 in your system by opening up the terminal and typing
"sudo apt-get install libopensync0" (without the quote marks). - 5). Connect the BlackBerry to the computer with the USB cable. They will automatically sync. You can open the program "Barry" to save and restore files on the BlackBerry.
